The temperatures in Nashville have officially dropped and Fall is finally here! We've pulled out our boots, are donning our favorite sweaters and have weekend plans that include fire pits and smores. We couldn't be happier for this season to arrive and can't wait to relish in the warmth that comes along with it. With that being said, Thanksgiving is upon us and many of us will be hosting our friends, family and loved ones. One of our favorite things to this time of year is to decorate our table. We've rounded up four of our favorite Fall tablescapes for you below and hope these inspire you to decorate your breakfast or dining table as well!

A simple garland of greenery along with heirloom pumpkins, touches of brass and copper and beaded gold chargers complete this simple and effortless tablescape.

Step it Up

Although utilitarian, staircases are a central focal point for any multiple story home. The shape, color, style and material allude to a home's overall aesthetic while providing a transition point from one floor to the next. Below are some of our favorite staircases; each very different in form but all serving the same purpose and function.

The geometric balusters in this staircase emanate a clean yet modern feel.

Modern Uses for Traditional Moulding

Moulding is most commonly seen on wainscoting, cabinets or as crown moulding, dressing up the seam between your walls and ceilings. However, it can be used just about anywhere to create a focal point on your ceiling, walls or stairs. Here are a few recommendations that you can easily DIY. These would take minimal time, but produce maximum impact!

Use moulding to create a geometric or abstract design on an otherwise flat ceiling.

Create an accent wall in a bedroom, dining room, etc. using moulding in a matching (or opposite!) paint color.

Step up your baseboard game by adding a piece of moulding 3 inches above the top of your existing baseboard. Paint the space in between to match and create a dramatic effect.

Moulding can be used in so many ways and is a great way to transform traditional into transitional!

A Beautiful Bath Without Breaking the Bank

Looking to update your bathroom and still have some money left in your wallet? Try re-glazing your tile or tub (or both!) to save some cash. This can be done with any type of tub: clawfoot, drop-in, alcove, freestanding, etc. Hire a professional to do the job, or flex those DIY muscles and do the job yourself. You'll be shocked (and thrilled!) at just how re-glazing these surfaces can make them look brand new. [Image Credit: Domino]

Finishing Touches

When taking on a large renovation or small DIY project, picking paint colors tends to be the most difficult part. But what about the paint finish? This is a small detail that is quite important and often overlooked. But don't fret...we're here to give you a quick rundown to help you select the right finish for your job!

Satin: Pick this finish for rooms that get alot of use. Think kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces. It's easy to clean and holds up in damp conditions.
Semigloss: This finish has a small sheen to it and is used mostly on trim and woodwork.
Flat: Use this finish for low-traffic areas and ceilings (it's quite hard to clean).
Eggshell: Easily the most popular finish; it's easy to clean and will take wear quite well. Use this in spaces you utilize most often.
High Gloss: Looking to make a statement? Choose this finish! It's high sheen will create drama and add a glam touch to your space.
